14 months ago I contacted a person that had a story written about their new advertising business in a local business paper. I had a technology idea and wanted to work with a company that had better marketing and advertising skills. A couple weeks later, we are discussing partnership plans.

We came up with an idea that took advantage of technology and advertising within a local mall.
The idea was great! The team was forming! Everything was falling into place.

Today, with the business only a few bucks from breaking even, we will be continuing discussions on whether or not we should stay in business together.

An article on partnerships would be interesting. What should you find out about the other person? What is a good “dating period”? And most importantly, what legal steps should be taken to protect your investment when things do not work out.
